OHHC Receives Belmont County Enrichment Fund Grant

PRESS RELEASE

BARNESVILLE – Ohio Hills Health Centers received the Belmont County Enrichment Fund (BCEF) grant through the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley (CFOV) to purchase two vital signs monitors and an infant pediatric SP02 monitor which will be used at the Barnesville Health Center.  The BCEF’s goal is to enrich the community through funding meaningful projects that improve the quality of life for Belmont County residents. The medical equipment which was purchased will benefit area residents by allowing OHHC-Barnesville to expand their scope of services, to increase staff efficiency and to improve health outcomes.

“The support of the BCEF makes a real and positive difference for our patients and staff,” said Jeff Britton, CEO, OHHC. “We are extremely grateful to the CFOV and the BCEF for providing us with the tools to better care for the residents in our medically underserved region.”

OHHC provides comprehensive healthcare to a vulnerable population which is older and poorer than the state and nation. Rural residents experience worse health outcomes, including higher rates of underlying health problems and chronic conditions, and a higher risk of the leading causes of death. Providing resources locally helps to maintain the provision of quality healthcare for our communities and our rural residents.

“The vital signs monitors offer fast, accurate readings and can easily be moved from room to room to ensure it is used where it is needed most”, said Kayla Reynolds, RN, Medical Services Manager. “The infant monitor allows for a more comprehensive workup during routine wellness checks for newborns and infants to assist in screening for health conditions and promote early intervention. A huge thank you to the BCEF for assisting us to meet the needs of area residents.”

Ohio Hills Health Centers is a federally qualified health center offering comprehensive health, dental and behavioral health services in four counties. OHHC also offers a patient discount program and a financial counselor to assist patients to apply for Medicaid, Medicare, and the Marketplace. OHHC also offers early morning and evening hours for patient’s convenience. Walk-ins welcome. For information or an appointment call 740-239-6447.
