Seneca Lake Winery ‘Grand Opening’ Set

QUAKER CITY –   Eleven years ago John R. and  Dolores Martin planted 1,500 grape vines on property they own near the intersection of SR 147 and SR 313 after completing three Ohio State University Workshops on growing grapes and producing wine.

Now, the Martins are ready to move to the next level with a Grand Opening of Vines on Hillside Farm Winery from 6-9 p.m., Thursday, July 2.

This past fall, the Martins shared news of their 2025 harvest. “We finished our harvest on Sunday with 10,850 pounds of beautiful Vidal grapes which produced 875 gallons of juice. Today, we finished racking the 875 gallons into individual tanks. So we will be adding yeast to start the fermentation very soon. To make room for the new juice we have bottled 127 cases of semisweet and sweet Vidal,” the Martins posted on Facebook.
