Penny (Johnson) Kirk

Penny (Johnson) Kirk, 79, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, surrounded by her family at WVU Medicine – Barnesville Hospital. She was born on April 1, 1947, to the late Ralph Johnson and Elizabeth Johnson.

She was a graduate of Barnesville High School and dedicated many years of her life to caring for individuals with developmental disabilities. She had a love for travel, especially trips to the beach, where she found peace, relaxation, and joy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and high school sweetheart, William “Bill” Kirk, Sr.; her children, Jessica Michelle “Mickey” (Al) Abdullah on June 6, 2020 and William Carl “Billy” (Cassandra) Kirk, Jr. on January 26, 2023.

Penny is survived by her grandchildren, Shelby (Justin) Dugan, Sarah Mercer, Jake Kirk, Zach Kirk, Aaron (Shelly) Kirk, Tessa (Clint) Kirk, Blake Kirk, Jacob Stevens, Ethan (Inez) Van Horn; great-grandchildren, Mia Van Horn, Zander Kirk, Rowan Kirk, Naomi Kirk, and expecting baby in January 2027; brothers, Dicky (Helen Jane) Johnson and Bobby (Cathy) Johnson; daughter-in-law and friend, Tammy (Kirk) Van Horn; her cat, Molly Sue, and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 12-2 and 4-6pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio where services will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 11am with Pastor Ed Eberhart officiating.
