State Theater Sunday Stage Features Route 40 Band
The Route 40 Band, featuring local students Bryar Shilling, Kennedy Wilkinson and Brendan McKeen, will perform on the stage of the historic State Theater Sunday night (July 19) as part of The Sunday Stage series.
Route 40 replaces Sam Shuman who was originally scheduled to perform. An unexpected family illness forced Shuman to cancel late Friday afternoon.
The trio features Wilkinson on vocals, guitar and bass, Shilling on vocals, guitar and songwriting and McKeen on drums.
Beginning in the summer of 2025, the group performed weekly at Waterfront Hall’s Thursday open mic nights in Wheeling, WV. They later began appearing at the Main Street Barrel House in Barnesville at its open mic events.
The band credits much of its early success to Route 40 LumberJaxe and owners Stacey and Doug Longenette, which is how the trio created its name.
Last December, Barnesville Area News profiled the group. Read it here.
Doors will open at 4 p.m., with the performance starting at 5 p.m. and running until 7 o’clock.
Admission is a suggested $5 donation. Bourbon chicken with white rice, green beans and a roll will be available, as well as snack and drink items for purchase.
