Barnesville FFA Students Compete

Vo-Ag Students Take First Place

The Barnesville FFA team took first place at the recent Champaign County General Livestock Judging Invitational at Urbana, marking the best finish in the program’s history despite challenging weather conditions. The competition featured 149 teams, 717 individual competitors.

All Barnesville’s team members placed in the top 20 percent. Individual rankings follow:

  • Brooke Watson, 4th
  • Lydia Fuchs, 20th
  • Mac Cacioppo, 41st
  • Carson Johnson, 76th
  • Reece Bostic, 90th
  • Ronnie Duvall, 134th

FFA member Ryland Wehr participated in the Meats Judging Contest where students demonstrate knowledge in evaluating retail cuts of beef, pork and lamb. Wehr came in 23rd out of 68 participants.

Ag Team Places Third at Springfield

On Wednesday March 5th the Barnesville High Livestock team claimed third place overall at the Wilmington Aggie’s Invitational in Springfield. We were able to win 3rd overall team

FFA Teams Excel at Zanesville

Nineteen Barnesville FFA members traveled to Zanesville on Friday to judge in the Southeast General Livestock Invitational.  Barnesville placed First of the 48 schools competing that day.

The local Meats judging team placed 5th in the Southeast Invitational in Zanesville on their first try at the competition. Team members are Ryland Wehr, Lydia Fuchs, Cole Eddy, and Kierra Phillips.
