State Theater Offers ‘Hocus Pocus’, Costume Contest
The emerging and developing Barnesville State Theater Company is entering the Halloween Season with a special free event at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., Saturday, October 31.
The theater will screen the 1993 cult classic ‘Hocus Pocus” followed by a costume contest.
‘Hocus Pokus” starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, three witches, opened in theaters in the summer of 1993. The movie is loosely based on the 1692 Salem Witch Trials.
Although the film was a box office bust, it has become a Halloween favorite in intervening years thanks to an almost constant present on cable television.
