Pickleball Tournament at Memorial Park

Entries are now being accepted for the Barnesville Pickleball Tournament to be held on Saturday, July 5, at the Barnesville Memorial Park at part of the Barnesville Independence Day Celebration.

The fee for singles is $15, and $10 per player for doubles. The deadline to enter is June 28.

There will be four divisions: Women’s Doubles, Men’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Open Singles. Skill levels in doubles are 2.0-3.5 and 3.5-5.0. Open Singles skill level is 3.0-plus.

There are two age groups: 49-and-under and 50-and-over. Players may choose to play down in age and up in skill level.

Play will consist of a round-robin format, with brackets, if needed.

The schedule of play begins with Open Singles at 10 a.m. Women’s Doubles starts at noon, with Men’s Doubles set for 2 p.m. and Mixed Doubles rounding out the day at 4 p.m.

Medals will be presented for first, second and third-places in each division.

Food trucks will be available all day in the park. Lawn chairs are encouraged.

There will be an optional ping pong tournament following completion of the pickleball event.
Fireworks will conclude the event.

The rain date is July 6.
