Belmont County Board of Election’s newest board member will take the place of a former member who died in June, filling the shoes of the longtime respected member.
The BOE swore Belmont County native Teresa Schafer in to take the place of former member Frankie Carnes.

The Guernsey County Fair will take place September 8-14 at Old Washington.

American Legion Post #312 teamed up with the Belmont County C-CAP program this week removing American Flags from veterans’ graves at Morristown and Belmont area cemeteries.

Belmont County has been celebrating the fair this week with livestock shows, entertainment, food and rides.
But the fair isn’t over yet. Friday ended the night with the Ohio State Tractor Pullers Association Tractor & Truck Pull. Saturday will feature an open beef show, Belmont County Truck & Tractor Pull, line dancing and the junior fair square dance and more. While Sunday features entertainment, Power Wheels Derby followed by Demolition Derby and more.
