Village Leaders Feel Pride as Barnesville Named an Ohio Magazine Best Hometown

As Ohio Magazine recognizes Barnesville among five great places to live, Barnesville leaders react with joy and pride to the honor.

Mayor Jake Hershberger wants the Village of Barnesville to celebrate this moment together.

Editors from the magazine visited villages and cities throughout the summer evaluating finalists in six categories—community spirit, education, entertainment, health and safety, business environment and culture and heritage.

New ‘Healthy Beginnings’ Group Organized

A newly organized group of individuals who want to focus on making healthy choices for weight loss, or maintaining their current weight, extends an open invitation to others interested in this effort.

Meetings are currently held on Thursdays at 10 a.m. with weigh-ins beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Main St. United Methodist Church Sunday School, Barnesville.

Epworth Park Added to National Register of Historic Places

The Epworth Park Cottage Owners Association and the Epworth Park Foundation are pleased to jointly announce the listing of the Epworth Park Historic District (Bethesda, Ohio) in the National Register of Historic Places. The National Register is the official list of the nation’s historic places worthy of preservation and currently contains over 100,000 properties.
