Italy natives Ricardo Zanini and Marta Raffaello, who are key contributors at Pietro Fiorentini in Weirton, WV, traveled to the Barnesville Pumpkin Festival for an evening.
The auction of the King Pumpkin along with the carved pumpkin and six handblown glass pumpkins Saturday afternoon following the parade netted over $20,000 for the festival.

The Pumpkin Festival weigh-in brought in 21 entries, top 10 winners and Bill Neptune winning the King Pumpkin title.
Five-time winner Bill Neptune, from New Concord, said it felt amazing to win the King Pumpkin title. Initially he thought his pumpkin would only weigh around 1,700 lbs, and after losing three of his pumpkins during growing, he brought his one pumpkin left, which brought him the winning title.
Wednesday afternoon as activities for the pumpkin festival were gearing up, members and supporters of the Barnesville State Theater Company celebrated achieving a $50,000 fund drive match raising $100,000 in the “100 days of summer” for renovations of the theater.
