The Belmont County Heritage Museum Marks 200 Years of the National Road with “Milestones and Memories” Event

Two hundred years ago, history was made in Belmont County. On July 4, 1825, construction officially began on the National Road in Ohio—right in downtown St. Clairsville, near the courthouse where life and commerce still thrive today,

The tourism office plans to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the National Road and 10th anniversary of the Belmont County Heritage by inviting the public to a commemorative open house called “Milestones and Memories,” from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the museum, 101 E. Main St., St. Clairsville.

Belmont County LifeWise Programs Plan 5K Race

Belmont County LifeWise Directors are coordinating a 5K run that will raise money for Bible-based learning programs on Saturday, August 9.

The county-wide 5k run fundraiser registration will begin at 7 a.m. followed by the race at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 9 at the Belmont County Fairgrounds, 45420, Roscoe Rd, St. Clairsville.

Ribbon Cutting at St. Clairsville Neighborhood Hospital

Hospital officials were joined by local politicians and the community to formally introduce the St. Clairsville Neighborhood Hospital Friday morning, July 18. The Grand Opening ceremonies took place at the new medical facility located along Route 40 near Plaza West on the site of a former auto parts supply store.
