A Perfect Cruise In Day

Mother Nature was in a great mood Sunday afternoon as the Main Street Barrel House hosted the restaurant and bistro’s Second Annual Cruise In.

With entries totaling in the mid-30s, antique and classic cars lined the East Main Street Parking Lot and filled most parking spaces along East Main Street between Chestnut and Arch streets.

Many of the entries were from the local community while others drove a distance to take part in the show.

Barnesville native and former resident Kevin Shipley who now lives in Muskingum County took part in the show. Shipley got his start in the auto industry at the former Bob’s Chevrolet east of Barnesville. Today, he is the service manager for Dunning Ford in Cambridge.

The largest entry was a 1964 Cadillac Fleetwood Limo currently owned by Larry and Karen Haas of Lore City. The car was originally sold at a Bethesda, Maryland, dealership. That’s right, Bethesda, Maryland, not Bethesda, Ohio.

The nine passenger limo was originally owned by the CIA and used to transport important government officials.
