Bethesda’s Patriotic Memorial Day Parade
BETHESDA – Continuation of a long-standing tradition of the Bethesda community’s annual Memorial Day parade drew a good hometown crowd Monday morning. Thankfully, Mother Nature, who peppered the area with persistent downpours over the past week, took a break during the parade and program that followed.
Dirk David, village administrator, said the parade consisted of between 35 and 40 entries.
Led by the Bethesda Epworth Legion Post #90 color guard, the parade featured Grand Marshal Jim Blaney and a float of local veterans, including a few from the Korean Conflict of the 1950s.

Several service organizations floats were complimented by the Union Local High School band, cheerleaders, baseball and football teams and little league teams from Bethesda and Centerville.

Neighboring fire departments from Belmont, Morristown and Smith Townships participated, as did Belmont County Sheriff James G. Zusack and the local Morristown ODOT garage.
