Flushed Kicks Off The Sunday Stage Series at Barnesville State Theater
The Barnesville State Theater Company will host the first Sunday Stage, featuring the local band Flushed, on Sunday, June 21. The theater is located at 137 West Main Street. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. with Flushed performing from 5-7 p.m. Sloppy joes, chicken sandwiches, baked goods, candy, water, and soda will be available for a $5 donation. The event is free, but donations are welcome to support the Barnesville State Theater Company’s efforts to restore the theater.
Flushed was initially formed in 2019 by Max Miller and Luke Taylor. Gage Blon joined the band in the summer of 2023. Influenced by Jeff Buckley and Nirvana, the band has the vibes of a 90s alternative rock band. The band’s original songs explore themes of morality, love, and the human condition.
The Barnesville trio is excited to perform at the Barnesville State Theater. “Being one of the first bands to play in such a storied venue is an honor,” said band member Luke Taylor. “I personally can’t wait to see the finished product and all of the future performances held there.”
The Sunday Stage Series is currently planned as three events on one Sunday each during the months of June, July, and August. There may also be additional pop-up events from time to time.
