Holloway’s 78th Old Timers Festival

HOLLOWAY – Our neighbors in northwest Belmont County will celebrate their 78th annual Oldtimers Baseball Festival with food, a car show, parade and more on Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4-6.

According to the Belmont County Tourism Council, the festival is the longest continuous old timers’ celebration in the nation. The first gathering took place in 1948!

The Oldtimers festival will begin at 11 a.m., Friday and Saturday when the kitchen opens, featuring a variety of food.

The special event Friday will be an 1890s-style baseball game at 5 p.m.

Saturday highlights include a car-truck-bike show from Noon to 4 p.m. (registration opens at 11 a.m.) and the perennial favorite festival parade at 5 p.m. (line-up at 3:30 p.m.). Following the parade, area fire departments will take part in a water battle.

Also available Saturday will be two children-friendly attractions – a bounce house and a blow up slide.

Sunday’s “Old Fashioned Day” begins with a garden tractor pull by Harrison County Lil’ Hustlers at 9 a.m. Festival goers are invited to a 9:30 a.m. church service at the Holloway Methodist Church.

The festival wraps up at 5 p.m., Sunday, September 6.
