Area Christmas Events through Dec. 20

Beallsville “Christmas in the Village Sale”- Nov. 23

The event, sponsored by Beallsville 7th and 8th Graders, will take place, Saturday, November 23 from 9:00-3:00.  Local artists, vendors and crafters will have items for sale. Ther will also be a gift card tree raffle and bake sale. The event will take place at the Beallsville School Campus east of town on SR 556.  

Santa and Mrs. Claus Visit Village Hardware – Nov. 30

Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit Village Hardware and Rental in Barnesville, Saturday, November 30, 11:00-1:00.  “Kick off t he holidays with your wish for Santa!” 

Pets are also welcome to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus. They must be leashed while in the store.   

Discounts on toys and pet products during the day.

Flushing Tree Lighting – December 1

The Flushing community will gather at the fire department on Sunday, December 1 at 6:00 for a flag raising ceremony, tree lighting and community gathering afterward. Mrs. Claus will be present. Enjoy hot cocoa, cookies, kid’s crafts and more. The event is sponsored by the Flushing VFD and Flushing Revitalization & Business Corp.

5B’s Factory Outlet Sale – December 5-8

The annual holiday sale at the firm’s former factory location in Barnesville, 130 East South Street, will take place Thursday, December 5 through Sunday, December 8.    

Light up the Night at UL Stadium – December 5

 “Light up the Night” will take place at the Union Local Jets Stadium, Thursday, December 5 from 5:00-7:00. “A special guest will be joining us from the North Pole.”  

The evening will include vendors, games, crafts, Christmas carols, and more including hot chocolate and cookies. There is no rain date. In case of inclement weather, the event will take place at the elementary school.   

Beallsville Community Tree Lighting – December 6

Beallsville Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Will take place Friday, December 6 at 6:00. “Join Santa in lighting our town Christmas tree.”  

Bring the children to see Santa and Mrs. Claus. The First Christian Church Fellowship Hall will be open after the tree lighting for hot chocolate, cookies, hot dogs, punch and crafts.

Belmont Village Christmas Kick Off – December 7

The Belmont Village Holiday Kick Off will take place on Saturday, December 7.  The day begins with Breakfast with Santa from 9:00-11:00 and ends with the Village Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:00,

Union Local 6th Grade Jingle Bell Alley – December 7

Homemade products, crafts, food, jewelry, home décor, vintage ornaments and more will be offered from 9:00-11:00 at the Union Local Middle School Gym.     

Flushing Activities and  Christmas Parade – Dec. 7

Parade line-up takes place as Schuler Park at 9:00. The parade moves at 11:00.  Breakfast with Santa sponsored by the Stratton Mill Foundation at the Methodist Churhc from 8:30-10:30. Craft Show at t he Fire Departemt from 8:00 – 12:00. (full concessions). Meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus at the fire hall after the parade.

QC, Salesville Holiday Activities – Dec. 7

The community of Quaker City will mark the launch of the Christmas Holiday Season on Saturday, December 7 with a bazaar at the Quaker City Firehouse from 11:00-4:00. Craft booths will be located at three locations – QC Fire House, Old Bank Mercantile and Salesville Church of Faith.  

Members of the Quaker City United Methodist Church will offer hot chocolate and cookies in the gazebo at 6:00.

The Community Tree lighting will take place at 6:30 followed by a benefit auction at 7:00. Donations for auction items are now being accepted.

 Meals offered from the QCVFD kitchen that day will include lunch options and a Baked Spaghetti Dinner in the evening.

 Beallsville Schools Concert/Fun Night – Dec. 11

The Beallsville Schools Music Program will present a Christmas Concert, Wednesday, December 11 at 6:00.  Performances will be offeed by the 3-5 grade music classes, 5th grade band, and the Beallsville High School Band. The concert will take place a the school campus. It will be followed by a “Family Fun Night”.  

Grinch Family Night – December 12

The Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library will host a family story time for all ages at the Library Annex, 616 N. Chestnut Street at 6:30 Thursday, December 12. The “Grinch” will be there for an evening of stories, crafts and a snack.

Holloway Methodist “Light Up Holloway” – Dec. 14

Join members of the Holloway Methodist Church for a special “Light Up Holloway” event on Saturday, December 14. Gift card prizes awarded.    

Hazen Lodge #251 Breakfast with Santa – Dec. 14

Hazen Lodge will host its annual Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 14 from 9:00-11:00. The breakfast includes pancakes and sides. The event is “no cost with gifts while they last”.   

Barnesville Bands/Choirs Present – Winter Concert – December 18

The free event will take place at the BHS Auditorium, Wednesday, December 18, beginning at 7:00. 

Performances by:

  • Advanced Band
  • High School Chamber Band
  • 5th Grade Choir
  • 6th and 7th Grade Choir
  • High School Chamber Choir

Barnesville State Theater “Winter Frost Gala” – Dec. 20

Featuring the Ron Retzer Trio, enjoy an evening of winter cheer while supporting the Barnesville State Theater Restoration Project. The event will take place in the Barnesville Elks Ballroom, 6:30-9:30. The cost is $30 per person which includes dinner, cash bar, show.  Semi-formal attire. 

The evening includes Cocktails, 6:30 (cash bar), Dinner, 7:00, Music 8:00-9:30.
