St. John the Baptist Church Gets Ready for Annual Picnic
Parishioners and community members can enjoy a meal and prizes at St. John the Baptist Church annual picnic this August.
The picnic will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 3 at St. John the Baptist Church hall, 35560 Miltonsburg-Calais Rd, Woodsfield.
The Belmont County Heritage Museum Marks 200 Years of the National Road with “Milestones and Memories” Event
Two hundred years ago, history was made in Belmont County. On July 4, 1825, construction officially began on the National Road in Ohio—right in downtown St. Clairsville, near the courthouse where life and commerce still thrive today,
The tourism office plans to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the National Road and 10th anniversary of the Belmont County Heritage by inviting the public to a commemorative open house called “Milestones and Memories,” from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the museum, 101 E. Main St., St. Clairsville.

Ohio Yearly Meeting Planned for Stillwater Meeting House
The annual gathering of representatives of the Ohio Yearly Meeting of Conservative Friends has been a Barnesville staple since 1878 when the current Stillwater meeting house was erected. The 2025 OYM will take place at Stillwater to conduct business beginning, Monday, August, 4 and running through Sunday, August 10.
