Bob Ullom of Somerton, who was a longtime fire chief of the Somerton Volunteer Fire Department, began the Ohio Mutual Insurance Agency. After several years of running it, Richard Kemp took over the agency in 1976, calling it Kemp Insurance.

Retired Barnesville Enterprise’s Jean Davies, center, finally fulfilled a promise made to Barnesville Livestock Auction owner Darryl Watson. On August 9 prior to the weekly Saturday sale at the South Gardner Street auction house, Davies delivered a framed history of the business that dates to the 1940s.
