Belmont County school districts are adjusting schedules in response to winter weather while working to meet Ohio’s instructional hour requirements.
Student Vacations Continue, Emergency Reduced to Level 1
Weather continues to impact schools in eastern Ohio. By midafternoon Wednesday, several public school districts called classes on Thursday while some events through Saturday have also been canceled.

Four Area Districts Awarded Bus Safety Grants
On Thursday, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Director Stephen D. Dackin announced the award of $10 million in Ohio School Bus Safety Grants to 371 schools, districts, and county boards of developmental disabilities statewide.

Grear Headed to OVAC Hall of Fame
The Ohio Valley Athletic Association announced through a press release in the valley’s daily newspapers Saturday that 1998 Barnesville High School graduate Ryan Grear would be inducted into the OVAC Hall of Fame later this summer.
