Thirty Barnesville High School students participated in the Voice of Democracy (VOD) audio-essay scholarship contest sponsored by the Barnesville VFW Post #2792. The VFW officers and auxiliary listened to the essays and selected two students to represent their post at the district level.
Ohio University Eastern recently hosted its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Writing Contest celebration, recognizing middle and high school students from across the region for poetry and essays inspired by the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
UPDATE: Because of snow days and delivery delays, Barnesville Schools had to make some changes to their February Menus. Barnesville Schools Director of Food and Nutrition, Brian Saner, shared the February breakfast and lunch menus. Remember that all students can eat breakfast and lunch for free this year. Barnesville’s varsity cheerleaders won both Game Day and Traditional competitions in DII at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando this past weekend.

Weather continues to impact schools in eastern Ohio. By midafternoon Wednesday, several public school districts called classes on Thursday while some events through Saturday have also been canceled.
