Education Foundation Grant Awards Total Over $50,000

BARNESVILLE -The Barnesville Area Education Foundation (BAEF) provides funds for local education systems and improvements that might not otherwise be available through public funding.
The Foundation has a grant review committee comprised of a chairman and individuals who are responsible to evaluate, review and approve or deny, grant submissions. This Grant Committee meets periodically to evaluate grants submitted by teachers and approved by principals and the superintendent.
At the April 13 BAEF Trustees Meeting, members approved nine grants totaling $50,493.20 for projects in Barnesville Schools.

Field Trip to State Capitol – Theater Tickets – $1,478.00 (requester: Chris Pack)
STEM Learning Resources and Materials – $900.00 (requester: Brandi Antolak)
Math Manipulatives for Kindergarten – $220.00 (requester: Kayla Pritchard)
New Toys for Preschool Child Development – $1,500.00 (requester: Bridget Brooks)
Organizational Bookshelves for Library – $989.97 (requester Stephanie Miller)
UFLI Phonics Program (Intervention Elem) – $9,082.50 (requester Alitza Grear)
Robotics – World Championships @ St. Louis – $6,500.00 (requester Brianna Holskey)
New Elementary School Sign – $28,263.00 (requester Zack Powell)
Materials for Special Education Students* – $1,559.73 (requester Jamie Bauman)
* This grant was funded out of the Hanlon Fund (officially the Hanlon Memorial Grant), a specific educational fund within the larger organization, established by bequest from late BHS grad Thomas “Tap” Hanlon to support special educational needs.
