UL Leaders, Levy Supporters Express Thanks, Relief
MORRISTOWN – Union Local officials, levy campaign organizers, supporters and students breathed a collective sigh of relief after final vote counts were posted by Belmont County election officials Tuesday night.
“With the levy passing by just 27 votes, this election was a powerful reminder that every single vote truly matters. While it was an incredibly close race, today reflects a community that came together to support the future of Union Local students, staff, and schools”, said Taylore Frasnelly, on behalf of the Union Local Foundation for the Future.
”On behalf of the Union Local Foundation for the Future, I’d like to sincerely thank every volunteer, supporter, educator, parent, and resident who took the time to engage in conversations, ask questions, and make their voices heard throughout this process. We know this was an emotional and deeply important issue for many in our community, and we remain committed to moving forward together with transparency, respect, and a shared focus on doing what is best for Union Local students and our future”.
Wednesday morning Dr. Zac Shutler, superintendent of schools, shared the following detailed statement on the district’s Facebook social media account.

Results are unofficial until the Belmont County Board of Elections meets on May 14 for the Official Canvass to certify the results of the May 5, 2026, Primary Election. The meeting will open at 8:30 a.m. and the board will reconvene at 4 p.m., said Eberle Ferrell, director.
