Flushed Performed at Barnesville State Theater

Barnesville’s local band, Flushed, kicked off The Sunday Stage concert series at the Barnesville State Theater on June 21. The event raised $750 toward the State Theater Company’s continued effort to restore the historical theater.

Flushed performed several crowd favorites, including “Purple Rain” and “Nights in White Satin.” The band’s playlist focused on many original songs, too. They released their first original, “Leave,” in 2023. Their most recent release last month on May 22, is “Ice”. These songs and others by Flushed can be found on various platforms, such as Spotify and YouTube.

Band member Max Miller shared that the band will spend more time this summer in the studio. Miller stated, “We want to focus on recording more music to fill out our playlist.”

Band member Luke Taylor added, “The studio is my basement.”

At the end of their performance, the band expressed how grateful they were for getting to play on the State Theater stage.

Judy Hutchison won the lottery board and asked that another name be drawn so she could share the winnings. The second name drawn was Royann Brill. Together, these ladies decided to take only half of the lottery tickets and donated the other half back to the theater. Thanks to their generosity, there will also be a lottery board raffled off at the next concert.

The next concert of The Sunday Stage series on July 19 will feature The Sam Shuman Band. Doors will open at 4:00 pm with the performance starting at 5:00 pm and running until 7:00 pm. Bourbon chicken with white rice, green beans and roll will be available as well as snack and drink items.
