Barnesville’s women track and field team came out on top as co-champs at the Buckeye 8 Championships at the Red Devils’ stadium Tuesday night.
Barnesville Varsity Softball’s trip to Weirton on Monday was challenging. In the end, they couldn’t keep up with Weir losing by a score of 8-0.
Barnesville and Buckeye Local benefited from strong pitching Friday night with the Shamrocks coming out on top over the Panthers, 3-1, on the opponent’s field.
Barnesville athletes will compete in the following games and contests the week of April 20-25.
The Shamrocks competed against teams from 10 other high schools at Dover Crater Stadium Track in Dover Friday afternoon.

Barnesville’s track teams came in first and second at Cadiz Wednesday at a Harrison Central track meet.
The Shamrocks took advantage of several Purple Rider defensive miscues Wednesday evening to win 7-4 over Martins Ferry. It was the team’s 9th consecutive victory.
