The following events, activities and contests are currently scheduled to take place on Independence Day week. This page will be updated as additional public events and activities are announced.
Wednesday, July 1
Fun in the Ville
Food trucks, children’s activities, games, contests and events make up the monthly Fun in the Ville events. Hours are 4-7 p.m. in the West Main Street parking lot. More details are shared below:

Kinder Kare is “Taking Charge” of the apple pie baking and eating contest.
Cindy and Bruce McGee are sponsoring Barnesville Gold Certificates as prizes for the pie baking contest.

Sunday, July 5
Freedom 250 Parade

Children will receive a personal American Flag for participating. After the parade, enjoy free hotdogs, chips and lemonade.
The Barnesville Depot will be open after the parade!
Barnesville Memorial Park

The pool will offer a free swim from Noon to 6 p.m.
Live Music at the Amphitheater
Food Vendors include Cowgirl County Fixins, Shamrock Tropical Snow, DiRusso’s Food Trailer, Hudson’s Brick Oven Pizza and Homemade Ice Cream.

Fireworks will be fired off at dusk from Barnesville-Bradfield Airport. Memorial Park offers an excellent viewing location.

Reading of the Declaration of Indepdence

Home/Business Decorating Contest

In addition to being the 250th anniversary of the founding of the nation, Belmont County will mark its 225 year in 2026. Belmont County was one of the state’s earliest counties, founded in 1801, two years before the State of Ohio was admitted to the Union.
