Thanks to the generosity of Barnesville State Theater’s friends at the Monroe Theater, a movie projection screen is now part of the local venue, another step towards returning movies, live events, and other activities to the century old movie house.

Lydia Fuchs won first place at the Ohio state level of the VFW Auxiliary’s Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest, receiving a $500 cash scholarship. The Barnesville State Theater Project is one of three historic preservation projects awarded a $10,000 donation from the South Central Power Company this fall. The donation was matched by Co-Bank, a South Central lender.
